How to Set Up your Space for TRE online
We really like doing TRE online, from the comfort of our own homes. Yes it will be lovely to shake together in person, when the pandemic is over, but until then, joining us is as easy as opening the laptop and getting cosy.
Here is a little guidance and top tips for setting up your camera:
If space allows, it’s important for us to be able to see on screen, as much of your whole body and head in a standing and laying position. Have a play with your space to best position your camera. After our initial intro to TRE, the first exercises are from a standing position, and you’ll have a chance to adjust your camera in the lesson, between standing and laying position. Then we move to the laying positions, where you will lay on your mat/carpet/rug.
Try not to wear black if you can help it. Don’t worry if your wardrobe is entirely black, just lighter colours help us to see your body and enjoy sharing and guiding your experience more easily.
If you’re joining via a tablet or mobile phone, try placing it in a container so it wont slide down during the session.
Set up in a quiet place where you will be given some peace for an hour. Turn the phone down, and settle in for some time to yourself.
It’s important fo you to have a good internet connection. If you think your internet may drop out, maybe try downloading zoom on a phone or second device as back up, so you can rejoin nice and easily :)
For your first time, you may find it useful if you have a support person at home, that you trust and feel safe with, should you need it, during or after the session.
