SUBLIMINAL Hypnotherapy Audio - NAIL BITING FREE
I made this subliminal audio as an experiment. 20 people who were nail biters agreed to listen for 1 week as they slept. This was an informal ‘experiment’ and quite a few people didn’t follow up with me so I have no idea how successful it was other than the handful who replied to thank me that their biting was reduced or stopped. I left this link up and have noticed a lot of traffic to this page so someone must have shared it somewhere. So I am adding this blurb.
This audio track will sound silent, so make sure you have the volume up at a normal level because it has a supportive hypnotherapy recording pitched at a frequency that your conscious mind can not hear (but the subconscious mind can!). There are lots of studies showing how effective subliminal messaging outside of conscious awareness is, and I would like to add this to my free Self Empathy BFRB toolkit at some point if enough people find it beneficial https://www.helloinna.co/free-self-empathy-bfrb-toolkit Over 600 people used the toolkit last year which I’m pretty chuffed about :)

- It’s best if you play it whilst you sleep. It runs for around 4hrs but it won’t disturb you.
- If you have a partner, you may want to wear headphones for the week as you sleep, but if this is uncomfortable don’t worry, there is only beneficial suggestions so it will not be a problem for others.
- Please make a quick note of roughly how often you were engaged in the nail biting behaviours last week if you can recall the severity. Then please track your nail biting behaviour during this week, on the tracker form linked below. You may have already tracked before, but if not it is a super useful awareness building activity, and central to CBT, so this may help in and of itself. - Aim for self compassion irrespective this week. All power to you for being so motivated for change, and willing to act. Every action like this leads towards recovery, I applaud you. This was an experiment, I use more research driven methods in my BFREE BFRB work, and the free toolkit linked above but if you’ve found this page and want to try the subliminal out, that’s great!
- All notes welcome, and will really help me going forward improving this.
I also want to add this - BFRB’s are a complex disorder, but recovery is possible. I can not promise magic buttons to never bite again and it’s real inner work to manage this, but I offer paths to this recovery, self knowledge, and progress. This recording can be 1 component 🙂 It is a journey and it can be different for everyone. So I encourage you to set aside any black and white thinking, where there is only perfection or failure, because it will hold you back. Choosing curiosity and a focus on progress and self compassion will help you bounce back quickly, and dodge that spiral of shame or frustration some feel with this.
